Yusuf Maitama Sule University, Kano (formerly Northwest University), has released details for its second combined convocation ceremony. This gathering will cover graduates from five academic sessions: 2018/2019 through 2023/2024.

Pre-Convocation Lecture
- Time: 4:00 pm
- Venue: Hafiz Abubakar Auditorium, City Campus
Saturday, 26 July 2025
Convocation Ceremony
- Time: 9:00 am
- Venue: Convocation Arena, Main Campus
- What’s happening: Conferment of first degrees, higher degrees, and honorary awards
The university’s Vice-Chancellor, Professor Mukhtar Atiku Kurawa, invites the public to attend.

All students who graduated in any of the following sessions:
- 2018/2019
- 2019/2020
- 2020/2021
- 2022/2023
- 2023/2024

How to Take Part
Step 1: Generate Invoice
Go to the YUMSUK Convocation Page and create your invoice.
Step 2: Make Payment
Use the invoice to pay the fee as stated.
Step 3: Gown Collection
Take proof of payment to your faculty office. That’s where you’ll collect your academic gown.
Payment Window
- Starts: Monday, 14 July 2025
- Ends: Tuesday, 23 July 2025
Don’t delay. No late payments will be processed.
Gown Collection and Return
- Pick-Up: From Friday, 18 July 2025 at your Faculty Office
- Return: Between Monday, 29 July and Wednesday, 31 July 2025
Who Gets in on Convocation Day?
Only graduands who have paid and collected their gown will be allowed into the venue. So if you skip any step, you’ll be left at the gate.
