This is a platform to share views, present fresh ideas, and contribute to the discussion about the distressed economy and the role young people can play in nation-building.
The theme for this competition is “The Distressed Economy & Nation Building: The Role of Young People”.

Cash Prizes for the Best Essays
The competition offers cash prizes for the best entries:
- 1st Prize: N80,000
- 2nd Prize: N50,000
- 3rd Prize: N30,000
These prizes will be awarded to participants who present thoughtful and insightful ideas on how youth can contribute to nation-building.
Guidelines for Entry
If you wish to enter, please follow these guidelines:
- Length of Essay: The essay must be at least 1,000 words.
- Assessment Criteria: Essays will be judged based on content, organisation, expression, and accuracy.
- Originality Requirement: The essay must be original, and the use of AI or plagiarised content is strictly prohibited.
- Submission Process: Submit your entry to edu@nycnogun.ng within the given time frame.
The top five entries will be notified on October 23rd, 2024.
These finalists must submit a final version of their essay by November 1st, 2024.
Important Dates for the Competition
- Entry Opens: October 7th, 2024
- Entry Closes: October 15th, 2024
