The Ominira Initiative for Economic Advancement, with support from the Initiative for African Trade and Prosperity (IATP), is excited to announce the 2024 undergraduate essay writing competition. The competition aims to explore the theme “Entrepreneurship and Democracy as Catalysts for a Prosperous Nigeria.“

Competition Details

The competition is open to undergraduate students in Nigerian higher institutions. It seeks to promote a deeper understanding of entrepreneurship and democracy among young Nigerians, preparing them to become agents of positive change.

Prizes

• 1st Position: N120,000
• 2nd Position: N100,000
• 3rd Position: N80,000
• Consolation Prizes: For 4th and 5th positions

Eligibility

To participate, you must:

• Be an undergraduate student in a Nigerian higher institution.
• Be 30 years of age or younger.

Submission Guidelines

To submit your essay, follow these steps:

1. Write Your Essay: Ensure it is no more than 800 words.
2. Format Your Essay: Use New Times Roman, font size 12, double line spacing, and justified alignment.
3. Save as PDF: Convert your essay to PDF format.
4. Submit via Google Form: Use this Google form to submit your essay.

• AI-generated content or plagiarism is strictly prohibited.
• Your entry must not have been previously published online or in print.
• Only one entry per participant is allowed; multiple entries will lead to disqualification.
