The Rector Cares Foundation School Essay Competition is now open, offering students a chance to showcase their ideas on water, sanitation, and hygiene (WASH).
This is an opportunity for young minds to contribute solutions to Lagos’ water challenges.
The Rector Cares Foundation Essay Competition encourages students to think about sustainable ways to conserve water and improve hygiene.
Eligibility for the Rector Cares Foundation Essay Competition
The competition is open to students currently in SS1 or SS2.
Participants must be attending a recognised secondary school in Lagos.
This ensures all young students in Lagos have a fair chance to participate.
Essay Topic for 2024
The essay topic is “The Critical Role of WASH in Promoting Sustainable Development in Lagos”.
Students need to share ideas on how water, sanitation, and hygiene can help create a better future for Lagos.
The essay should include practical ways to solve the water issues facing the city.
Guidelines for the Competition
Here are the guidelines to follow for the Rector Cares Foundation Essay Competition:
- Essay Length: The essay must be between 1000 and 2000 words.
- Formatting: Use Times New Roman, 12-point font, and double-spacing.
- Title: Include a title at the top of the first page.
- Citations: Properly cite any sources or references used in the essay.
The competition will run from 1st October to 31st October.
Judging Criteria
The essays will be judged based on:
- Originality of ideas.
- Creativity in presenting solutions.
- Clarity in writing.
- Feasibility of the proposed solutions.
