RSU Business School Admission Form 2021/2022

Applications are invited from suitably qualified candidates for admission into the Rivers State University Business School postgraduate programmes in the Rivers State  University, Nkpolu-Oroworukwo, Port Harcourt for the 2021/ 2022 academic session.

Rivers State University Business School Courses

1. Post Graduate Diploma (PGD)
2. Master of Business Administration (MBA)
3. Executive Master of Business Administration (EMBA)
4. Master of Science (M.Sc.) – Short Course
5. Doctor of Business Administration (DBA)

All programmes are in the specialized areas of Accountancy, Finance, Management, Project Management, Marketing, Supply Chain and Logistics Management, International Affairs, and  Office and Information Management. The programmes, which run on a Modular Part-time basis  are offered in the hybrid (physical and virtual) teaching modes in the evenings of Monday to  

Thursday excluding Executive Master of Business Administration which is on weekends to accommodate the busy schedules of executives.  

Rivers State University Business School Admission Requirements

1. PGD: First degree or its equivalent with a minimum of a pass grade in cognate disciplines or a second class lower division in any other discipline. Practical work experience is an added advantage. 
2. MBA: A good first degree or its equivalent with a minimum of a Second-Class grade with a CGPA of 3.00 in a 5-point scale or 2.50 in a 4-point scale in cognate disciplines.  
   Applicants with a lower degree but possessing PGD are eligible to apply. Practical work experience is an added advantage. 
3. EMBA: Same as MBA but applicants are expected to possess cognate leadership experience in the private or public sector at the time of their application. 
4. M.Sc. (Short Course): A good first degree or its equivalent with a minimum of a Second- Class grade with a CGPA of 3.50 in a 5-point scale or 3.00 in a 4-point scale in cognate disciplines as well as an MBA. Practical work experience is an added advantage. 
5. Doctor of Business Administration: To qualify for admission into the DBA programme, applicants must possess a first degree or its equivalent with a minimum of a Second Class lower division with a CGPA of 3.00 in a 5-point scale or 2.50 in a 4-point scale or a PGD in cognate disciplines, as well as an MBA or M.Sc. with a minimum CGPA of 3.50 in  a 5-point scale or 3.00 in a 4-point scale. Practical work experience is an added advantage. 
6. All Applicants for all programmes must also fulfil the matriculation requirements of the Rivers State University, Nkpolu-Oroworukwo, Port Harcourt, viz. five O’level credits in relevant subjects, including English and Mathematics (and Economics for courses in the  Management Sciences). 

Note:

• In addition to the conditions above, an applicant for the DBA degree may attend a selection test and/or oral interview. Candidates for DBA shall be required to submit and defend a proposal in their area of interest.
• Applicants shall be required to submit online, scanned copies of their academic credentials, and three reference letters addressed to the Director, RSUBS, one of which must be from a  lecturer in the candidate’s previous institution, who will attest to the good conduct of the  candidate.
• Applicants are also required to request their previous institutions to forward the transcript of their highest qualification to the Secretary, RSUBS. 

Rivers State University Business School Programmes Duration

1. The Postgraduate Diploma programme with project or seminar runs for a minimum of two semesters and a maximum of four semesters.
2. The MBA programme with dissertation runs for a minimum of three semesters and a maximum of five semesters.  
3. The EMBA programme with dissertation runs for a minimum of four semesters and a maximum of six semesters. 
4. Master of Science (M.Sc.) – Short Course: The M.Sc. Short Course programme with dissertation runs for a minimum of two semesters and a maximum of four semesters. 
5. The Doctor of Business Administration (DBA) programme with a thesis runs for a minimum of four semesters and a maximum of six semesters.

The forms are available online at www.rsubs.org.ng with the payment of a non-refundable fee of N30,000.00.

Follow the procedure below for both online payment and application for the programmes:

1. Visit RSUBS website – https://www.rsubs.org.ng/
2. Click on Registration Portal – https://www.businessschoolportal.rsubs.org.ng/
3.  A page appears; Enter the following information:
   • – E-mail Address
   • – First Name
   • – Last Name
   • – Phone Number
4. Then click PAY
5. After successful payment of Application fees, kindly fill you the application form correctly.
6. Upload your passport photo and copies of your credentials and Submit.
7. Admission status will be sent via email within 7 days
8. If admitted, Proceed to the Student Portal To Create Account.
