RSU Christmas Break 2025 Dates for Students and Staff

The management of Rivers State University, Nkpolu-Oroworukwo, Port Harcourt has shared the dates for the 2025 Christmas break. This notice applies to both students and staff.

The message came from the Office of the Registrar through an internal memo. Academic and office work at the university will pause from Saturday, 20 December 2025. Activities will pick up again on Saturday, 3 January 2026.

During the break period, all university offices will stay shut. Some workers will still be on duty because their roles are needed daily. These include drivers assigned to principal officers, security staff, and estate and works teams handling water and electricity. Porters in student halls and health workers at the emergency unit will also remain active. This helps keep the campus safe and running, even while most people are away.

Full work across the university will return on Monday, 5 January 2026. Students should plan travel and personal plans around this date so resumption feels easier.

The Vice-Chancellor, speaking through the Acting Registrar, sent kind wishes to students and staff. The message wished everyone a peaceful Christmas season and a hopeful New Year, even if the year has been long.
