SDU Ozoro Convocation Date Changed to 28 Feb 2026

Delta State University of Science and Technology (DSUST), Ozoro, now Southern Delta University (SDU), has readjusted the programme of activities for its upcoming convocation ceremony.

Management formally announced that the Convocation, Awards of Prizes and Commissioning of Projects earlier fixed for Friday, 27 February 2026 will now hold on Saturday, 28 February 2026.

Why SDU Changed the Convocation Date

Management said it moved the date to allow better coordination and improve participation of the University Visitor, His Excellency, Rt. Hon (Elder) Sheriff, F. O. Oborevwori, JP; all other arrangements remain unchanged.

Revised SDU Convocation Programme of Activities

The university released a revised Programme showing the new date; the events and times are listed below.

Day 1: Sunday, 22 February 2026

Event: Church Service at Annunciation Catholic Church, SDU, Ozoro
Time: 7:00am – 10:00am

Day 2: Monday, 23 February 2026

Event: Novelty Match at the SDU Stadium
Time: 4:00pm – 5:30pm

Day 3: Tuesday, 24 February 2026

Event: Vice-Chancellor’s Press Conference
Time: 11:00am – 1:00pm

Day 4: Wednesday, 25 February 2026

Event: Convocation Lecture
Time: 11:00am – 2:00pm

Day 5: Thursday, 26 February 2026

Event: Science, Technology and Innovation Exhibition
Time: 11:00am – 1:00pm

Day 6: Saturday, 28 February 2026

Event: Convocation, Awards of Prizes and Commissioning of Projects
Time: 9:00am – 1:00pm

Day 7: Sunday, 1 March 2026

Event: Thanksgiving Service at Church of Nigeria (Anglican Communion) Cathedral Church of St. Paul, Diocese of Ozoro, Ozoro
Time: 7:00am – 10:00am
