Southern Delta University in Ozoro, not so far from Warri and a bit farther from Asaba, is calling for fresh academic hands. The place was set up in 2021 after the State House of Assembly gave the nod. The idea was simple, Delta had plenty of bright young people queuing up for higher education, so the government said, why not build more seats.

Requirements in a nutshell

- Senior Lecturer: PhD, 3 years as Lecturer I, record of research, journal papers, and proven teaching.
- Lecturer I: PhD, 3 years as Lecturer II, with published work.
- Lecturer II: PhD, moved up from Assistant Lecturer, interest in research a must.
- Assistant Lecturer: Master’s degree in the subject area, with proof of research interest.
