School of Nursing Ado Ekiti was established at its present site in 1976 by the then Ondo State government. The school existed for 10 years before it was merged with the school of nursing, Akure in 1986. The site laid waste for a long time before the then Ondo State University Ado Ekiti (OSUA) took it over for its institute of education running for its sandwich programme.
Currently, the school was ceded to the Management of Ekiti State University Teaching Hospital (EKSUTH), Ado Ekiti to become part of the Teaching Hospital on July, 31st 2011 during the tenure of Dr. Kayode Fayemi as the Governor of the State.
