TASUED Appoints Professor Adeogun as Acting VC
The Governing Council of Tai Solarin University of Education (TASUED), Ijagun, Ogun State, has approved the appointment of Professor Adekunle Olanrewaju Adeogun as the Acting Vice-Chancellor of the university.
Professor Adeogun, who previously served as the Deputy Vice-Chancellor under the outgoing Vice-Chancellor, Professor Wole Banjo, will officially assume office on 4 November 2025, following the completion of Banjo’s five-year tenure.
According to a statement from the university’s Registrar, Mr Oladapo Oke, Professor Adeogun will oversee the university’s administration pending the appointment of a substantive Vice-Chancellor.
Details of the TASUED Appointment
The statement issued after an emergency Governing Council meeting on Wednesday, 22 October 2025, confirmed the ratification of Professor Adeogun’s appointment.
A seasoned academic and Professor of Public Health Education, Adeogun began his teaching career at the former Ogun State College of Education (now TASUED) in 1999 as a Lecturer III. Over the years, through dedication and service, he rose through the ranks and became a Professor in 2016.
The university described him as a prolific researcher with over 50 academic publications. His academic journey reflects a strong foundation in education and public health, built through years of research and teaching.
Professor Adeogun’s Educational Background
Professor Adeogun holds:
- National Certificate of Education (NCE) from the former Ogun State College of Education (1990)
- Bachelor’s Degree in Education from the University of Port Harcourt (1995)
- Master of Education (M.Ed.) from Olabisi Onabanjo University (2003)
- Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) from the University of Ibadan (2008)

The outgoing Vice-Chancellor, Professor Wole Banjo, congratulated Professor Adeogun and extended his best wishes for success in the new role. He expressed confidence in his successor’s leadership and commitment to maintaining academic excellence at TASUED.
