University of Abuja (UNIABUJA) Academic Calendar 2024/2025

The University of Abuja (UNIABUJA) has released the updated academic calendar for the 2024/2025 session.

This schedule includes all key academic activities for the session to guide students and staff.

University of Abuja (UNIABUJA) Academic Calendar

The academic year consists of two semesters: the First Semester and the Second Semester.

Each semester includes 15 weeks of instruction followed by a week of final examinations.

The calendar also includes a long vacation session with periods of instruction ranging from one to eight weeks.

First Semester 2024/2025

• 4–15 November 2024: New students complete registration, which includes course selection, clinic registration, and orientation.
• 11–22 November 2024: Returning students complete registration.
• 18 November 2024: Virtual and physical classes begin.
• 29 November 2024: Course registration for students closes.
• 30 November 2024: Matriculation ceremony for undergraduate students.
• 19–20 December 2024: Mid-term break for students and staff.
• 23–27 December 2024: Add-and-drop period for courses.
• 7 February 2025: Classes for the First Semester end.
• 10–22 February 2025: Final examinations for all students.
• 24 February 2025: First Semester break begins.
• 7 March 2025: All grades are uploaded and submitted to the Heads of Departments (HODs) by 12 noon.
• 10 March 2025: Faculty Boards hold meetings to approve grades at 4:00 PM.
• 12 March 2025: SBC holds a meeting on grades at 10:00 AM.
• 17 March 2025: Senate meets to approve grades at 10:00 AM.
• 18 March 2025: Grades are electronically released to students by 12 noon.

Second Semester 2024/2025

• 10 March 2025: Add-and-drop period for courses.
• 17 March 2025: Second Semester classes begin.
• 24–25 March 2025: Mid-term break for students and staff.
• 28 April 2025: Classes resume after the break.
• 6 June 2025: Second Semester classes end.
• 9–21 June 2025: Final examinations for the Second Semester.
• 23 June 2025: Second Semester break begins.
• 3 July 2025: Final grades are uploaded and submitted to the HODs by 12 noon.
• 7 July 2025: Faculty Boards hold meetings to approve grades at 11:00 AM.
• 9 July 2025: SBC meets on grades for the semester.
• 11 July 2025: Senate meets to approve grades at 10:00 AM.
• 12 July 2025: Final grades are electronically released to students by 12 noon.

This calendar ensures that all academic and administrative activities align with the planned schedule. Students are encouraged to adhere to the dates provided to meet their academic responsibilities.
