University of Abuja (UNIABUJA) appoints Mrs Shiva Rae M’ovul-Kondoun as the new Bursar for a five-year term. Find out more about her background and experience below.
The University of Abuja (UNIABUJA) has announced the appointment of Mrs Shiva Rae M’ovul-Kondoun as the new Bursar of the university.
Her appointment was approved by the Governing Council at its 70th Extra-Ordinary meeting on 24th October 2024.
The role is set for a single term of five years.

Profile of Mrs Shiva Rae M’ovul-Kondoun
Mrs M’ovul-Kondoun is from Logo Local Government Area, Benue State.
She attended Queen of Rosary Secondary School, Gboko and obtained her WAEC/GCE O’ levels in 1983.
In 1987, she completed a Diploma in Accounting at the Institute of Administration, Ahmadu Bello University, Zaria.
She furthered her studies with a Bachelor of Science in Accounting from the University of Benin in 1997.
In 2005, she earned a Master’s in Business Administration from Benue State University, Makurdi and is currently pursuing a PhD in Accounting and Finance at the same university.
Professional Training and Experience
Mrs M’ovul-Kondoun has completed various national and international training programmes.
In 2013, she attended a seminar on Leadership, Ethics, and Corporate Governance at the University of Pittsburgh, USA.
She participated in the International Financial Reporting Standard (IFRS) Conference in the UK in 2011 and the World Congress of Accountants (WCOA) in Rome (2014), Sydney (2018), and Mumbai (2022).
She has also taken part in several Mandatory Continuing Professional Development (MCPD) programmes held by accounting bodies.
Career Journey and Roles
Mrs M’ovul-Kondoun began her career as Accountant I at Benue State University in 2001 and reached Deputy Bursar by 2012.
She has served in many roles, including Acting Bursar of Benue State University (January to August 2021).
She was a member of the ANAN Governing Council Committee on International Relations and Linkages (2015-2019).
She also sits on the Board of Trustees for the Chartered Institute of Forensic and Certified Fraud Examiners of Nigeria (CIFCFEN) since 2019.
She currently chairs the Professional Women Accountants in Nigeria (PROWAN).
Before joining UNIABUJA, she was Deputy Bursar for the Budget and Expenditure Control Division at Benue State University.
Professional Memberships
Mrs M’ovul-Kondoun is a Fellow of the Association of National Accountants of Nigeria (FCNA) since 2019.
She holds fellowship status in the Chartered Institute of Forensic and Certified Fraud Examiners of Nigeria (CIFCFEN), awarded in 2021.
She is also an Associate Chartered Institute of Taxation of Nigeria (ACTI) member and a registered Professional Accountant with the Financial Reporting Council (FRC), joining in 2012.
This appointment brings her extensive experience and expertise to UNIABUJA in the role of Bursar.
