The University of Benin (UNIBEN) Postgraduate Admission Form for the 2023/2024 academic session is now available.

Applications are invited from qualified candidates for postgraduate programmes at UNIBEN, leading to the award of Postgraduate Diplomas, Master’s degrees, and PhDs.

UNIBEN Postgraduate Admission Requirements

• You must have at least five (5) credits in WASC, NECO, GCE (ordinary level), or their equivalents.
• A credit pass in Mathematics and English is mandatory.
• Four credits at Ordinary level, plus OND (not pass), NCE, IJMB, or Advance level passes, or any other equivalent qualification.
• A pass (Degree/Diploma) holder is not eligible for admission.
• Holders of third-class degrees must possess a PGD to be considered for Master’s programmes.
• Candidates with a Master’s degree and a Weighted Average Score (WAS) between 55.0-59% are eligible for the M.Phil. programme.
• To apply for a PhD, you must have a minimum weighted average score of 60% in your Master’s degree.
• If your Master’s degree is from another university and you did not take equivalent compulsory courses at UNIBEN, you must offer and pass these courses upon admission.
• You must have an NYSC discharge, exemption, or exclusion certificate to be cleared for the postgraduate programme.

How to Apply for UNIBEN Postgraduate Admission Form

1. Purchase the Application Form: Obtain the application form online using a valid VERVE or MASTER ATM Bank Card from any commercial bank in Nigeria for ₦22,000.00.
2. Complete the Application: Fill out the form accurately with all required information.
3. Print Documents: After submission, print the application and referee forms from the UNIBEN website.
4. Submit Referee Forms: Print the referee forms, have them filled, and return them directly to the Secretary, School of Postgraduate Studies.
5. Application Deadline: Complete all application processes by 30th October 2024.

Admission Procedure

• Only candidates who are offered admission into the postgraduate programmes should proceed to pay a non-refundable acceptance fee of ₦60,000.00.
• The acceptance fee must be paid before you can be cleared for the programme.

Screening Details

• Admission into some programmes will be through an entrance examination at the Ugbowo campus.
• No entrance examination is required for certain programmes, with admission based on the general requirements approved by the Senate.
