UNICROSS Job Opening for Registrar 2025
University of Cross River State (UNICROSS) has declared a vacancy for the post of Registrar. Qualified candidates with strong administrative background and at least 15 years of university experience are invited to apply. Applications close six weeks from the date of publication.
The University of Cross River State (UNICROSS) is calling for applications for the position of Registrar. This role is one of the top seats in the university’s administration. The Registrar stands as the Chief Administrative Officer, reporting directly to the Vice Chancellor.
The office oversees daily administration, except financial matters. By tradition, the Registrar also serves as Secretary to the Governing Council, Senate, Congregation, and Convocation. It is a demanding role, one that carries both authority and responsibility, with the Governing Council or Vice Chancellor able to assign extra duties when needed.
Qualifications and Experience
The position is not for beginners. Applicants must bring solid experience and academic standing. Requirements include:
- A first degree not below Second Class Lower from a recognised university.
- At least 15 years of related work experience in higher education.
- A record of service as Deputy Registrar for no less than five years.
- Higher degrees, professional qualifications, or membership of relevant bodies give an edge.
The candidate must also:
- Show proven leadership and strong communication skills.
- Be of sound character, with integrity and interpersonal strength.
- Possess good knowledge of information and communication tools.
- Be physically and mentally fit for the demands of the office.
- Be under 60 years at the time of taking up duty.
Tenure and Pay
- Tenure: A single, non-renewable term of five years.
- Salary: In line with what Nigerian public universities offer, with allowances and benefits as approved by government and the Governing Council.
