Accreditation Achievement
The NUC’s report, addressed to the Vice-Chancellor of UNIJOS, Professor Tanko Ishaya, and signed by the Acting Director of Accreditation, Engr. Abraham Chundusu, confirmed the accreditation results. Out of the programmes evaluated, twenty-three undergraduate programmes received Full Accreditation status, while two received Interim Accreditation. Additionally, the only postgraduate programme reviewed was granted Full Accreditation. This means that approximately 93.3% of the university’s seventy-five academic programmes now hold Full Accreditation status.
Significance of Full Accreditation
Full Accreditation status from the NUC signifies that the academic programmes meet the minimum academic standards and comply with government and industry guidelines. It ensures high-quality training for students, preparing them for successful careers. A programme with Full Accreditation can operate for at least five academic sessions before the next evaluation to maintain its relevance and quality.
