UNILORIN earns full NUC accreditation for 36 academic courses

The University of Ilorin (UNILORIN) has received full accreditation from the National Universities Commission (NUC) for 36 out of the 37 academic programmes it submitted. The only course given interim accreditation was Hausa. No programme was denied approval.

This result followed the NUC accreditation exercise held in October and November 2024. The official report was shared in a letter dated 30 April 2025, addressed to the Vice Chancellor, Prof. Wahab Olasupo Egbewole, SAN.

Understand what full and interim accreditation mean

Full accreditation means a course meets all the required standards in quality of teaching, staffing, facilities, and course content. Interim accreditation means a course still meets most requirements but needs a few improvements before full approval.

If a programme has full accreditation, your degree will be recognised for jobs, further studies, and professional registration.
