UNILORIN Announces 2026 SIWES Pre-Placement Orientation Programme (Date, Time and Venue)

The University of Ilorin (UNILORIN) has announced plans to hold its 2026 Students Industrial Work Experience Scheme (SIWES) Pre-Placement Orientation Programme for students scheduled to proceed on industrial attachment.

The announcement was conveyed through an internal memorandum issued by the SIWES Unit, Office of the Vice-Chancellor.

Date, Time and Venue

The memorandum states that the orientation programme will take place:

• Wednesday, 14 January 2026
• University Auditorium
• 10:00 a.m. prompt

Purpose of the Programme

The memorandum describes the programme as an annual enlightenment forum, organised by the SIWES Unit in collaboration with the Industrial Training Fund (ITF).

It is intended to prepare students for the industrial training ahead and to familiarise them with the requirements and expectations of the SIWES scheme (as set out for participants).

Opening of the Programme

The memorandum further states that the programme will be formally declared open by the Vice-Chancellor of the University.

Instructions on SIWES Documents

Faculty and Departmental SIWES Coordinators have been advised to inform their students to visit the SIWES Unit to collect their SIWES documents ahead of the programme.

Note on Coordinator Attendance

The attendance of Departmental SIWES Coordinators is described in the memorandum as beneficial to the success of the event; the guidance is directed at supporting smooth coordination.
