UNIZIK 19th Convocation Ceremony Programme of Events

Nnamdi Azikiwe University, Awka, has released details for the 19th Convocation Ceremony.

The event will take place from Wednesday, 26th March to Friday, 28th March 2025.

Wednesday, 26th March 2025

• Vice-Chancellor’s Press Conference
  • Time: 9:30 a.m.
  • Venue: Council Chamber
• Convocation Lecture and Award of Prizes
  • Time: 11:00 a.m.
  • Venue: University Auditorium

Thursday, 27th March 2025

• Award of First Degrees
  • Time: 11:00 a.m.
  • Venue: Convocation Arena

Friday, 28th March 2025

• Commissioning of Completed Projects
  • Time: 9:00 a.m.
• Award of Higher Degrees, Honorary Degrees, and Installation of Emeriti Professors
  • Time: 11:00 a.m.
  • Venue: Convocation Arena

Important Information for Graduands

Graduands must complete the required payments before collecting convocation materials.

Convocation Fees

• First Degree – ₦27,000
• Masters Degree and Postgraduate Diplomas – ₦71,300
• Ph.D – ₦122,300 (includes gown and all required items)

• Order of Proceedings/Convocation Brochure
• Academic Outfits
• Certificate Scrolls
• UNIZIK T-shirt or Hoodie
• UNIZIK Cap
• UNIZIK Tie or Scarf
• UNIZIK Lapel Pin

Payment and Collection Instructions

• Payments must be made through the UNIZIK ePayment Portal starting from Monday, 10th February 2025.
• Graduands must provide proof of payment to collect materials.
• First Degree Graduands will collect academic outfits from Faculties and Departments.
• Higher Degree Graduands will collect academic outfits from College of Postgraduate Studies.
• Collection of materials begins on Monday, 17th March 2025.
• Hired gowns must be returned by Wednesday, 2nd April 2025 to avoid penalties.

Dress Code and Procession

Graduands must wear appropriate formal or national attire.

All graduands must join the academic procession and wear the approved academic regalia.

The procession will begin at 9:30 a.m. daily, and participants must assemble at the College of Postgraduate Studies.

Security Guidelines

• Bags and luggage will not be allowed inside the Convocation Arena.
• Parking spaces are available for those with parking and invitation cards.
• Security personnel will guide vehicles to designated parking areas.
• Selling items near the Convocation Arena is not allowed.
