Nnamdi Azikiwe University (UNIZIK), Awka, has announced a vacancy for the position of Provost, College of Postgraduate Studies.

The role becomes vacant on 30 March 2025. The Vice-Chancellor invites qualified candidates to apply.

About the College

The College of Postgraduate Studies plans, supervises, and coordinates all postgraduate programmes at UNIZIK. The Senate of the university grants its authority.

Responsibilities of the Provost

The Provost will:

• Oversee postgraduate training, research, and education at the university.
• Provide leadership for the College of Postgraduate Studies.
• Report to the Vice-Chancellor and the College Board.

Qualifications and Requirements

Candidates must:

• Hold the title of Professor.
• Be an active researcher.
• Have experience with postgraduate academic administration.

Candidates must submit 10 copies each of:

• A formal application.
• A detailed, signed, and dated Curriculum Vitae (CV).
• A statement of vision for the College.

• Applications must be sealed and confidential.
• The envelope should be marked “Post of Provost, CPGS” at the top left corner.
• Applications should be addressed to the Registrar and Secretary to the Senate.
• Deadline: 4 PM on 14 February 2025.

Only shortlisted candidates will proceed to the election stage.
