UNN Resumption 2025/2026

University of Nigeria, Nsukka (UNN) has shared the resumption plan for the new academic session. Fresh students start first. Returning students come back later, then classes kick off straight away.

The school also wished students safe travel and a good session. Short and clear.

A. Instructions to candidates offered provisional admission for the 2025/2026 academic session

Candidates who received provisional admission need to follow the steps below to accept the offer and move into full registration.

  1. Accept admission on JAMB CAPS
Candidates should go to the JAMB Portal and accept the admission on CAPS by clicking “Accept Admission”. If a candidate does not accept on JAMB CAPS, the candidate will not get a JAMB Admission Letter and the candidate will count as not admitted.
  2. Create a payment invoice on UNN platforms
Candidates should log in with their JAMB Registration Number to generate and download a payment invoice with a Remita number (RRR) using either:
    1. The University of Nigeria official website: https://www.unn.edu.ng/
    2. The UNN student portal: https://unnportal.unn.edu.ng/
The invoice lets a candidate pay at any commercial bank, including UNN Microfinance Bank.
  3. Pay the acceptance fee (N50,000)
With the invoice, candidates should pay Fifty Thousand Naira only (N50,000.00) as acceptance fee.
Some first year students already paid N30,000 earlier. Those students need to pay the N20,000 balance by generating the balance fee invoice from the acceptance fee invoice page. Small detail, but it matters.
  4. Confirm invoice details at the bank
Candidates should make sure the bank enters the invoice number correctly. After payment, the bank gives a confirmation slip showing the Confirmation Number and Invoice Number.
  5. Print the admission slip and complete the acceptance form online
Candidates should return to the UNN site or portal, log in with the JAMB Registration Number, Confirmation Number, and Invoice Number, then:
    • print the admission slip
    • complete the Acceptance Form online
  6. Continue with other payments and registration
Candidates should move on to other fees and registration steps shown on UNN platforms.
  7. Admission stays provisional
UNN says the admission remains provisional.
  8. Wrong entry requirements can cancel admission
If UNN later finds that a candidate does not meet the minimum university and faculty or departmental entry requirements for the course (as set by Senate and shown in the JAMB Brochure), UNN will withdraw the offer. Even in final year. Yeah, that one is serious.

B. Free transport arrangement from Nsukka bus terminal

UNN arranged free transport for new students from Nsukka town into campus.

Staff will be on ground to guide students and help them reach campus safely.

UNN also welcomed students on behalf of the 16th Vice Chancellor, Prof Uchenna Simon Ortuanya.

For help, students can call the hotline: 08037737879

C. Process flow for temporary accommodation for first year students

Some newly admitted first year students may want a short stay in holding hostels while they sort hostel fee payment. UNN shared the steps.

  1. Nsukka Campus
Students should go to Alvan Ikoku (Male) and Okpara (Female) hostels and meet the hall supervisors for processing and check-in.
  2. Enugu Campus
Students should go to Kenneth Dike (Male) and Mariere (Female) hostels and meet the hall supervisors for processing and check-in.
  3. Documents to submit to the hall supervisor (three items)
    Candidates must submit:
    • A copy of the acceptance fee receipt
    • A copy of the page that shows the candidate’s name on the admission list
    • A copy of one approved ID card: National ID Card, International Passport, or Voter’s Card
  4. Original ID must be seen
The hall supervisor must physically sight the original ID, and the name on the ID must match the name on the admission page.
  5. For new students only
This temporary space is for newly admitted students only.
  6. Six days only
The temporary accommodation starts from resumption and lasts six days only, with no extension.

D. Process flow for new students
