In a recent announcement, the authorities of UNN have indicated that the shopping/advert admission list is now accessible online. This list includes the names of candidates who have been provisionally accepted for admission in various academic programmes for the forthcoming academic year.

If you’re one of the candidates fortunate enough to find your name on the admission list, you’ll need to adhere to the following guidelines to validate and confirm your admission:

  1. Urgent Upload of O/Level Results: Candidates are strongly urged to upload their O/Level results into the JAMB Portal at a JAMB-approved CBT Centre and then forward proof of this upload and their Admission Status in JAMB CAPS to the Admissions Office.
  2. Acceptance of Admission on JAMB CAPS: To secure your admission, you need to visit the JAMB Portal and accept your admission on CAPS by clicking “Accept Admission”. Failure to do so will be considered as a rejection of the admission offer.
  3. Invoice Generation and Payment of Acceptance Fee: Candidates are required to visit the University of Nigeria’s website or portal, input their JAMB Registration number to generate a Payment Invoice containing a Remitta number. This invoice will allow payment of the N30,000 acceptance fee at the UNN Microfinance Bank or any other Commercial Bank.
  4. Admission Slip and Acceptance Form Completion: After the payment, revisit the university’s website or portal, log in using your JAMB Registration Number, the Confirmation Number, and Invoice Number, print the Admission slip and complete the Acceptance Form online.
  5. Further Payments and Registration: The University of Nigeria’s website will guide you through subsequent fee payments and registration processes.

Please note, these admissions are provisional, and if a candidate is found not to meet the minimum requirements at any point, including the final year, the admission offer may be withdrawn.

An Alternative Path: Check Admission Status on the JAMB Portal

Prospective UNN students also have the opportunity to verify their admission status on the JAMB admission status checking portal. Here is the outlined procedure:

  1. Visit the JAMB admission portal at https://portal.jamb.gov.ng/efacility_/.
  2. Login to your JAMB profile using your username and password.
  3. Scroll down to locate and click the ‘Check Admission Status’ tab.
  4. Select your Exam year and enter your registration number in the appropriate field.
  5. Finally, click ‘Check Admission Status’ to view your UNN admission status.
