Venite University, Iloro-Ekiti, has announced a call for applications for the position of Vice-Chancellor, which will soon be vacant. The Governing Council invites suitably qualified candidates to apply for this leadership role at the growing private university. The Role of the Vice-Chancellor
The Vice-Chancellor serves as the Chief Executive and Academic Officer of the university, reporting directly to the Governing Council. The role involves managing daily operations, maintaining discipline, and advancing the university’s academic and administrative goals.
Eligibility and Qualifications
Applicants must:
- Hold a PhD from a recognised university.
- Possess at least 15 years of post-doctoral experience, including 5 years as a Professor.
- Demonstrate proven academic leadership, research excellence, and administrative competence.
- Show strong ICT skills and entrepreneurial ability.
- Have experience in planning, resource mobilisation, and institutional governance.
- Be of sound health, not older than 65 years at the date of appointment.
- Exhibit integrity, accountability, and discipline in all professional dealings.
Terms and Tenure
The appointment is for a single term of five (5) years.
Remuneration and benefits are comparable to those offered in reputable private universities across Nigeria.
Method of Application
Qualified candidates should submit the following:
- Ten (10) copies of their application letter and detailed Curriculum Vitae (CV).
- Ten (10) copies of a vision statement (maximum 2,000 words).
- Ten (10) photocopies of relevant credentials and one recent passport photograph.
- Three (3) referees’ reports attesting to the candidate’s competence, leadership, and integrity.
Referees should send their confidential recommendations directly to the Registrar of Venite University.
