Yaba College of Technology (YABATECH) CODFEL Course Registration Procedure For New Session

Yaba College of Technology (YABATECH) has shared a clear process for CODFEL course registration for the new academic session.

This guide explains that process in simple steps so students can follow the official rules, pay the right fees, and avoid actions that may lead to deleted courses or fines. Every step here stays in line with what the college has already released.

CODFEL registration steps at YABATECH

CODFEL course registration runs on a separate portal linked to the main college site. Students must first pay their statutory fees, then log in to the CODFEL portal, pick courses, pay CODFEL fees based on credit units, submit the registration, and only then move to the general student portal to print their course form.

Step 1: Open the CODFEL registration page

Students should start the process online.

  1. Go to the college portal at portal.yabatech.edu.ng.
  2. Select the CODFEL registration option on the portal.
  3. As an alternative route, students may visit the main college website and use the “Student” menu to reach the CODFEL registration page.

This first step only opens the right portal. It does not complete the registration.

Step 2: Make statutory payment before access

Before students can use the CODFEL portal for a new session, they must pay the statutory fees set for that session.

  1. On the CODFEL landing page, look for “Make Statutory Payment”.
  2. Use that link to pay the required statutory fees.

Without this statutory payment, access to the CODFEL portal will be blocked and registration cannot move forward.

Step 3: Log in to the CODFEL portal and pick courses

After statutory payment is done, students can move on with course selection.

  1. Click “Commence Registration” on the CODFEL page.
  2. Log in with the assigned username and password.
  3. From the list of available courses, select the courses planned for the session.

Students should already know the correct courses and credit units from their approved course structure or advice from their department.

Step 4: Review course list and pay CODFEL fees

Once courses have been picked, the system will show a page with the full course list and payment options.

At this point, students can:

The total CODFEL fee depends on the credit units selected. Because the amount is tied to these units, the college advises students to confirm their course choices with care before they generate any payment. Any mistake here may lead to wrong fees or extra steps later.

Step 5: Submit registration on the CODFEL portal

After CODFEL payment is completed, the process is not yet finished.

  1. Students should return to the CODFEL Online Access Center.
  2. Click on “Submit Registration” to confirm and store the final course list.

If this “Submit Registration” step is skipped, the course registration remains incomplete, even if payment has been made. The college treats this as an unfinished process, so students should always check that submission is done.

Step 6: Print course form on the general student portal

Only after submitting on the CODFEL portal should students move to the general student portal. The general portal is used mainly to print the course form.

Students are instructed to:

The college clearly warns students not to use “Register My Courses” or “Unlock Course” on the general portal for CODFEL courses. Doing so may:

Adding extra courses after initial registration

Some students may later decide to add courses after the first CODFEL registration has been completed. The college sets a set path for this.

  1. Visit the CODFEL office in person.
  2. Request an invoice for the extra course units that need to be added.
  3. Use the invoice to make the required payment through the approved payment channel.
  4. Return to the CODFEL office with:
    • Proof of payment.
    • A written list of the courses that should be added.

Only the CODFEL office is allowed to process these extra units. Students should not try to add courses online on their own through other means.

Illegal course updates and possible fines

YABATECH has restated that any attempt to update or unlock course forms through methods not approved by the college counts as illegal registration. This includes trying to adjust or unlock CODFEL course forms directly on the general portal or through other unauthorised routes.

Such actions may:

Students are, therefore, expected to keep to the official steps and to use only the approved links and offices when they need changes.
