Yaba College of Technology (YABATECH), through its Students’ Industrial Work Experience Scheme (SIWES) and Placement Unit, has announced the schedule for the SIWES Orientation Programme for National Diploma (ND) full-time and Centre for Open and Distance Learning (CODeL) students for the 2024/2025 academic session.
The announcement is contained in an internal memo dated 7 January 2026 and signed by the Director of SIWES, Dr Kanife, U. C.
What the orientation is set up to do
The memo states that the orientation programme is intended to prepare students for participation in SIWES. It also states that students will meet and interact with officials of the Industrial Training Fund (ITF) on issues relating to SIWES (the session is meant to address questions that come up before placement begins).
Schedule and venues
The timetable runs across three dates. Two sessions hold at the Multipurpose Hall; one holds at the Epe Campus. Each session is scheduled for 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.

Attendance and internal coordination
The memo states that the SIWES Directorate has urged the Dean of Student Affairs to sensitise all ND full-time and CODeL students to take part in the programme. The same notice links attendance to a successful SIWES experience; students are expected to attend the session scheduled for their school.
The management of the institution also expressed its expectation of cooperation and support from stakeholders for the orderly conduct of the orientation exercise.
