YSU Registration Extension 2025/2026: New Dates

The management of Yobe State University (YSU) has announced an extension for the 2025/2026 academic session registration exercise. A general circular signed by the University Registrar, Isa Audu Dallari, and dated 2 February 2026, communicated the update; students now have a fresh timeline to complete their registration steps.

YSU says the adjustment gives students more time to finish documentation, so each Candidate can settle outstanding items and move on.

New registration timelines for YSU students

YSU has split the registration exercise into two windows: a normal extension period and a late period.

Normal registration extension

The normal registration extension starts on Monday, 2 February 2026, and ends on Saturday, 7 February 2026.

Late registration period

Students who do not register within the extension window will move to late registration. Late registration runs from Monday, 9 February 2026, to Saturday, 14 February 2026.

Late registration penalty

YSU will charge an extra N5,000 as a late registration fee for any student who registers during the late window, 9 to 14 February 2026; the fee applies within that period.

Portal closure date

The university management states that the registration portal for the 2025/2026 session will close permanently on Saturday, 14 February 2026. After that date, YSU will not accept further registration requests or payments.

What students should note

The circular addresses both returning and fresh students; they are expected to complete registration within the stated timelines to avoid the late fee and other issues linked to missing the final closing date.
