Introduction to ACU’s New Accreditations

The NUC, in a letter dated June 6, 2024, confirmed the accreditation of 11 new courses at Ajayi Crowther University. This decision aligns with the Education (National Minimum Standard and Establishment of Institution) Act, CAP E3, Laws of the Federation of Nigeria 2004. This act empowers the NUC to set and enforce minimum academic standards across Nigerian universities.

The Accreditation Process

The NUC’s accreditation involves detailed evaluations and assessments. In September 2023, the Executive Secretary of the NUC informed the university management about the upcoming accreditation exercise, scheduled between October and December. During this period, accreditation teams from various NUC departments visited ACU to evaluate its compliance with NUC regulations and readiness for accreditation.
