AKSU Law Degree Programme 2025/2026: UTME 280+ Admission and Online Screening Guide

Akwa Ibom State University (AKSU) has received approval from the National Universities Commission (NUC) to start a full-time Bachelor of Laws (LL.B.) degree programme from the 2025/2026 academic session. The approval came in an NUC letter dated 10th November 2025.

Online applications are open to students who meet the set entry score and choice rules and who wish to study Law at Akwa Ibom State University, Ikot Akpaden.

Overview of the AKSU Law Degree Programme

The new LL.B. Law programme at Akwa Ibom State University is full-time and will begin with the 2025/2026 academic session.

The programme is approved by the NUC and will follow the standards set for Law in Nigerian universities. Teaching and screening will take place at Akwa Ibom State University, Ikot Akpaden.

Who Can Study Law at AKSU?

Only UTME candidates who meet both of the points below can be considered for admission into the AKSU LL.B. Law programme:

  1. The candidate must choose AKSU as first choice in JAMB.
  2. The candidate must score 280 or above in the 2025 UTME.

Students who wish to read Law at Akwa Ibom State University but did not pick AKSU as first choice in JAMB are advised to apply for a Change of Institution in JAMB to make AKSU their first choice, as early as possible.

Online Registration for AKSU Law 2025/2026

The AKSU portal will open for online registration on Monday, 17th November 2025.

Only candidates who complete the online registration on the university portal will be considered for admission into the Law programme of Akwa Ibom State University.

Prospective students are encouraged to start registration once the portal opens so they have enough time to upload documents and cross-check details.

Documents Needed for the 2025/2026 Online Screening

Each candidate must have clear scanned copies of the following documents:

  1. 2025 UTME Result Slip
  2. Birth Certificate
  3. Certificate of Origin
  4. AKSU PUTME Registration Confirmation Slip (2025)

These documents will be uploaded during the online registration. Images must be in jpg format and must follow the size rules on the portal.

Step-by-step Guide for AKSU PUTME Law Registration

Candidates are to follow these steps to register for the AKSU LL.B. Law online screening:

  1. Visit the AKSU admission portal at AKSU admission portal.
  2. Select “START NOW”.
  3. Select “Enrol”.
  4. Select “PUTME”.
  5. Enter the JAMB Registration Number in the space provided.
  6. Select the arrow below to verify and continue.
  7. Proceed to pay the N2,000.00 registration fee (bank charges not included). Payment can be made by Debit Card or Transfer.
  8. Upload scanned copies of: Each file must be in jpg format with a minimum size of 120KB and a maximum size of 150KB.
  9. Check all details on the preview page to make sure they are correct.
  10. After confirming the details, select the “Finish” button to generate the AKSU PUTME Registration Confirmation Slip.

Students should keep both the payment evidence and the Registration Confirmation Slip safe. These may be needed later in the admission process.
