ATBU Change of Course Steps for the 2025/2026 Session
Abubakar Tafawa Balewa University (ATBU) has opened the sale of Change of Course Forms for the 2025/2026 academic session. The exercise begins on 8 December 2025, based on an internal memo from the Office of the Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Academics). The memo, marked ATBU/DVC/ACAD/08 and dated 1 December 2025, sets out clear rules that every applicant must follow.
These steps help students meet the entry terms as they move from one department to another.
Change of Course rules at Abubakar Tafawa Balewa University (ATBU)
According to the directive, each candidate must follow these steps:
- Seek advice from the current Head of Department and the Head of Department for the intended course before filling out the form.
- Collect the change of course details from the Secretary in the DVC Academics Office.
- Attach the admission letter and second semester results to the form. Students who deferred their semester do not need to attach the second semester results.
- Make sure the CGPA falls between 0.25 and 1.80. The College of Medical Sciences and the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine do not follow this CGPA range.
- Pay a non-refundable fee of ₦10,000 into the ATBU Microfinance Bank at the Yelwa or Gubi campus.
- Submit only forms issued by the DVC Academics Office with the Remita slip and original receipt attached.
Students are advised to keep copies of all documents so each step can be confirmed if needed.
The outlined steps help the university confirm that each student meets the needed academic terms before approval. By working with both departments and attaching the right records, students keep the process simple. Payment at the campus microfinance bank and the use of approved forms also help with clear record keeping.
