ATBU Postgraduate Academic Calendar 2025

The School of Postgraduate Studies (SPGS) at Abubakar Tafawa Balewa University (ATBU) has released the approved academic calendar for the 2024/2025 session. The calendar outlines the schedule for postgraduate activities.

First Semester Activities

• Registration: 10th December 2024 – 10th February 2025 (8 weeks).
• Lectures: 13th January – 28th March 2025 (11 weeks).
• Examinations: 7th April – 3rd May 2025 (4 weeks).
• Marking: 7th April – 17th May 2025 (6 weeks).
• Departmental/Faculty PG Committee Meetings: 19th – 20th May 2025 (2 days).
• PG Board Meeting: 21st – 22nd May 2025 (2 days).
• Senate Business Committee Meeting: 23rd – 26th May 2025 (4 days).
• Senate Examination Meeting: 29th May 2025 (1 day).
• Inter-Semester Break: 4th – 29th May 2025 (4 weeks).

Second Semester Activities

• Resumption and Registration for All Students: 30th May – 4th June 2025 (6 days).
• Lectures: 2nd June – 23rd August 2025 (12 weeks).
• Examinations: 29th August – 28th September 2025 (4 weeks).
• Marking: 29th August – 12th October 2025 (6 weeks).
• Departmental and Faculty PG Committee Meeting: 13th – 14th October 2025 (2 days).
• PG Board Meeting: 15th – 16th October 2025 (2 days).
• Senate Business Committee Meeting: 17th – 20th October 2025 (3 days).
• Senate Examination Meeting: 23rd October 2025 (1 day).

Vacation and New Session

• Vacation for All Students: 29th September – 4th December 2025 (10 weeks).
• Annual Leave for Academic Staff: 24th October – 4th December 2025 (42 days).
• Start of 2025/2026 Session: 4th December 2025.
