UNIUYO Postgraduate Admission Form for 2025/2026 Session
UNIUYO has opened applications for its 2025/2026 postgraduate programmes, including PGD, Masters, and PhD. This article breaks down the courses, entry needs, deadlines, and how to apply. If you’ve been thinking of furthering your studies, now might be the time.
So, the University of Uyo has opened the gate. Again. This time for those eyeing a postgraduate degree, and trust me, they’re not playing around. Whether you’re planning to step up with a PGD, chase that Master’s, or finally attack the PhD dream that’s been on your mind for years, they’ve laid out the path.
And honestly, even if you’re just here to see first, that’s okay. I did too before writing this.
What courses are they offering?
The list is long. Like, long-long. You’ve got:
- Postgraduate Diploma (PGD)
- Master’s degrees — MSc, MA, MEd, MEng, MLIS, MPharm
- M.Phil/Ph.D (Integrated)
- Ph.D (Doctoral Degrees)
These run across 17 faculties, including:
- Agriculture
- Arts
- Engineering
- Law
- Medicine (Basic and Clinical)
- Communication & Media
- Management
- Pharmacy
- Sciences (Biological and Physical)
- Education (including Vocational and Library Sciences)
- Computing
- Environmental Studies
- Social Sciences
…and some they didn’t list but hinted at with “among others.” So, basically, they covered most areas.
How long will it take?
Time-wise, here’s what you’re signing up for:
- PGD: 2 to 4 semesters. If you pick Engineering, it goes up to 6.
- Master’s: 4 to 6 semesters.
- Ph.D: 6 to 10 semesters. Pack snacks.
- M.Phil/Ph.D: You’ll need at least 2 semesters before they decide if you’re moving on to the full PhD.
So yeah, it’s not a sprint. Bring your charger, and maybe a flask.
Who can apply?
This part’s important. You don’t want to waste ₦ on a form if you’re not ready. Here’s what they’re asking for:
- Five O’Level credits, including English and Maths.
- For PGD: at least a Third Class degree from UNIUYO or another recognised university. Or an HND (minimum: lower credit).
- NYSC Certificate (or an exemption/exclusion letter).
- For Master’s and PhD: You’ll need department-specific stuff like transcripts, references, and a research proposal.
So, if your file is still under your bed in a dusty envelope, this might be the time to fish it out.
