If you’re really going all the way, here’s where it gets real. UNIUYO is offering doctorates in:
- Peace and Conflict Studies
- Public Order and Info Management
- Parasitology (and three other science-heavy tracks)
Not for the faint-hearted, but definitely for the determined.
Who is eligible?
Right, the part where many sigh and scroll past. But don’t. Read this slowly.
For PGD:
- You must have at least a Third Class degree from a recognised school
- Or, an HND with lower credit
- WAEC or NECO? Yes. Credit in English and Maths plus three other subjects
For Master’s:
- You need a Second Class Lower or better
- OR a PGD in a related field
- And the usual credits in your O’level, same as above
For PhD:
- Must already hold a Master’s degree
- Some programmes ask for PGD too, plus work experience
- Sciences require full science background from day one (you can’t enter through the back door here)
General Rules:
- NYSC certificate is a must (discharge, exemption, or exclusion – pick your version)
- Transcripts should be sent within your first year. Miss it, and well… your admission may disappear.
- You might be screened, especially for Master’s and PhD. So don’t say no one warned you.
