Lagos State University (LASU) has suspended academic activities over the new coronavirus disease.

In line with the directive of the Federal and Lagos State Governments that all Schools be closed in order to prevent the further spread of the Corona Virus (COVID-19), the Senate of Lagos State University at an Emergency Meeting held on Friday, 20th March, 2020, approved the immediate suspension of all academic activities on campuses of the University. All prior approvals that entail students’ mass movement on/off campus were also rescinded.

The Senate also directed that the fumigation of the entire University environment particularly, the classrooms be carried out as preventive measure during the period of the shut down; just as the University, particularly the College of Medicine, were encouraged to be part of a problem solving research team.

Consequent upon the foregoing, all students are hereby directed to vacate the University Campuses immediately at Ojo, Epe and Ikeja from Friday, 20th March 2020. Information on a resumption date would be communicated in due course.

However, members of staff of the University are expected to be at their respective duty posts.
