Edo State University Debunks False Security Memo
The Management of Edo State University, Iyamho is calling the attention of students, staff, and the wider public to a memo moving around with the heading “Security Alert – Movement Restrictions”. The message did not come from the Acting Registrar or any authorised office, and it is entirely false.
There is no confirmed security threat on campus, and no report of suspected bandits in the university. The story being shared is misleading and was created to spread fear. It should be ignored.
The University also states that anyone who spreads claims that cause worry, mislead the public, or attempt to damage the name of the University may face legal action.
All students, staff, and members of the public are encouraged to rely only on official announcements. Every genuine update will continue to come through the approved communication channels of the University Management.
The campus remains safe, calm, and fully active.
