FULAFIA Gets NUC Approval for Six New Programmes

The National Universities Commission (NUC) has granted approval for six new full-time academic programmes at the Federal University of Lafia (FULAFIA). These programmes will officially begin in the 2025/2026 academic session, marking another step in the university’s academic growth and commitment to offering broader learning opportunities for students.
According to the university management, this approval came after a successful resource verification exercise conducted by NUC panels of experts who evaluated the available human and material resources required for the take-off of the programmes.
Newly Approved Programmes at FULAFIA
The following degree programmes have been approved for commencement:
- Bachelor of Laws (LL.B)
- Doctor of Pharmacy (Pharm.D.)
- Bachelor of Science in Quantity Surveying (B.Sc.)
- Bachelor of Science in Urban and Regional Planning (B.Sc.)
- Bachelor of Science in Nutrition and Dietetics (B.Sc.)
- Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (D.V.M)
These additions will help FULAFIA expand its reach across disciplines such as law, health sciences, environmental studies and agricultural sciences.
Strengthening Academic Capacity at FULAFIA
The Vice-Chancellor, Professor Shehu Abdul Rahman, expressed appreciation to the NUC for its support and guidance. He also acknowledged the efforts of the Director of Academic Planning Directorate, Professor Ilemona Adofu, along with the dedicated staff and stakeholders whose commitment contributed to the successful accreditation of the new programmes.
