LASU Medical Screening for Newly Admitted Students Starts 23 February 2026: Batch Schedule, Requirements, and Penalty for Missed Dates

The Lagos State University (LASU) Directorate of Health Services has announced the start of the medical screening exercise for newly admitted students for the 2025/2026 academic session. The exercise will begin on Monday, 23 February 2026.

This screening is presented as a scheduled exercise, not a walk-in process; dates are assigned and tracked.

How students will be scheduled

The Directorate of ICT has arranged the schedule so that students will attend in batches of 50–70 per day. Each student will receive a specific date for a visit to the Health Centre.

The batching arrangement sets the pace of the exercise (and limits crowding); it also means a student’s attendance date is not optional.

Missed dates and penalty fee

Students who miss their assigned dates will be required to pay a penalty fee. The notice frames this as a deterrent against disruption of the exercise.

In plain terms, the schedule has consequences; students who do not attend on their allocated day should expect an added payment requirement.

Steps students must follow

The notice sets out the process students are required to follow:

  1. Visit the LASU website to print the scheduled medical screening date.
  2. Report to the Outpatient Section of the LASU Health Centre on the scheduled date with the required items.

Items required at the Health Centre

On the assigned date, students are required to present:

A small detail, but one that often causes delays: the printed schedule is listed as a required item, alongside photographs and proof of payment (students should arrive with all three).

Adherence to the schedule

The notice urges newly admitted students, their parents or guardians, and members of staff to adhere strictly to the schedule.
