NSUK Vice Chancellor’s Research Grant 2025/2026
The School of Postgraduate Studies (SPGS) at Nasarawa State University, Keffi (NSUK) has announced the opening of applications for the Vice Chancellor’s Research Grant for the 2025/2026 academic session. The grant supports outstanding PhD students whose research promotes scientific progress, creative inquiry, or community development. It offers funding to encourage original and practical research aligned with national and regional growth.
Thematic Areas
The NSUK Research Grant covers two broad categories:
- Science and Technology
- Arts and Humanities
Each category seeks research proposals that show depth, originality, and measurable outcomes that contribute to solving real challenges.
Grant Amount and Awards
- Total Grant: ₦2,000,000 (Two Million Naira)
- Best proposal in each thematic area: ₦500,000
- Second-best proposal: ₦300,000
- Third-best proposal: ₦200,000
These awards aim to reward creativity, impact, and research rigour among NSUK postgraduate students.
Guidelines for Proposal Submission
Applicants must structure their proposals according to the format below:
- Executive Summary – not more than 300 words.
- Keywords – minimum of 3 and maximum of 5 describing the project.
- Background of the Research Project – context and relevance.
- Research Objectives – clear, focused goals.
- Statement of Problem – evidence-based and specific.
- Conceptual Framework – theoretical basis of the study.
- Research Output and Outcomes – expected deliverables.
- Project Impact – social or academic benefits.
- Literature Review – relevant past research and gaps.
- Research Methodology – process and data collection.
- Research Activity/Output Indicator – measurable achievements.
All proposals should reflect originality, feasibility, and relevance to development within Nigeria or the researcher’s immediate community.
