PTDF 2026 overseas postgraduate scholarship for MSc and PhD

The Petroleum Technology Development Fund (PTDF) has invited applications for its 2026 Overseas MSc and PhD Scholarships. PTDF, a Federal Government agency, stated that the award supports Nigeria’s oil and gas sector by building indigenous human capacity and petroleum technology; the Fund will place successful candidates in specific programmes at selected partner universities abroad.

PTDF said it is satisfied that scholarship standards will be sustained at the partner universities; the Fund expects the scheme objectives to be met.

UK PhD: split-site at CPESK

PTDF stated that, with the establishment of the College of Petroleum and Energy Studies, Kaduna (CPESK), the Fund continues to strengthen local capacity and bring key parts of its human capital development programme into Nigeria, in line with national priorities.

For the 2026 academic year, PTDF stated that PhD scholarships in the United Kingdom will again be limited to split-site programmes only. Under this model, successful candidates will split residency between CPESK and designated UK partner universities:
