Once the time passes 11:59 p.m. on 20 November 2025, the system will stop taking new applications for this round. Late entries will not be counted for the ballot.

How hostel bed spaces will be allocated

After the portal closes, hostel bed spaces will be shared out through a random balloting system. All eligible students who applied within the time frame will be in the ballot for available bed spaces.

The balloting exercise for hostel allocation will take place on Friday, 21 November 2025.

Important dates for UNILAG hostel balloting

Students should keep these dates in mind:

Any student who gets a bed space must pay on or before Friday, 28 November 2025, which is one week after allocation. Failure to pay within this period may lead to loss of the space.

Students who cannot take part in the balloting exercise

Some students on campus are not allowed to join this hostel ballot. These include:

The Student Affairs Division has the list of students who live in these hostels. Any student from these halls who tries to take part in the hostel balloting exercise, in spite of this clear rule, will be referred to the Students’ Disciplinary Board for social misconduct.

How students can prepare for hostel life

Students who hope to get a bed space should plan ahead:

Clear planning helps students move into their hostels smoothly once they receive a space and complete payment.

Final note on hostel accommodation at UNILAG

The hostel accommodation balloting exercise for 200 to 500 level students gives a clear and fair method for sharing limited bed spaces in the halls of residence at UNILAG. By meeting the eligibility conditions, applying within the stated dates, and following all rules from the Student Affairs Division, students can take part in the ballot with clarity and avoid disciplinary issues linked to hostel allocation.
