AE-FUNAI Secures Full NUC Accreditation for 10 Courses

Alex Ekwueme Federal University Ndufu-Alike, Ebonyi State, has secured full accreditation from the National Universities Commission for 10 academic programmes.

The result followed the NUC accreditation visit to AE-FUNAI in October/November 2025.

NUC Accreditation Visit to AE-FUNAI

The National Universities Commission visited AE-FUNAI for the accreditation exercise under the Education Act CAP E3, Laws of the Federation, 2024.

The Act empowers the Commission to set Minimum Academic Standards for academic programmes offered in Nigerian universities and to accredit such programmes.

AE-FUNAI Gets Full Accreditation for All Presented Programmes

The result of the accreditation exercise came through a letter signed by the Director of Accreditation, Engr. Abraham Chundusu.

He signed the letter on behalf of the Executive Secretary of the Commission.

The letter confirmed that AE-FUNAI secured full accreditation for all 10 academic programmes presented for accreditation in 2025.

The programmes that received full accreditation are:

1. Business Administration
2. Criminology and Security Studies
3. Public Administration
4. Education Automobile Technology
5. Education Building Technology
6. Education Computer Science
7. Education Economics
8. Education Electrical/Electronics Technology
9. Education Mechanical Technology
10. Education Woodwork Technology

Vice-Chancellor Speaks on the Accreditation

The Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Nwachukwu, described the full accreditation of the 10 programmes as a national endorsement of AE-FUNAI’s academic quality.

He said the result reflects the quality of the university’s curriculum, the competence of its staff and the readiness of its graduates to compete globally.

AE-FUNAI’s Academic Focus

Prof. Nwachukwu also restated his administration’s resolve to pursue academic excellence.

He said the university, under his watch, would keep investing in staff development, modernise laboratories and libraries, strengthen quality assurance systems and reward merit.
