NUC Accredits 11 FUBK Programmes

The National Universities Commission has granted full accreditation to 11 academic programmes at the Federal University Birnin Kebbi, after the commission’s October/November 2025 accreditation exercise.

The update appeared in a statement issued by the university’s Head of Information and Public Relations, Mr Jamilu Magaji, to newsmen on Wednesday in Birnin Kebbi. The outcome came in a letter dated April 7, 2026; it was signed by the NUC Director of Accreditation, Engr. Abraham Chundusu, on behalf of the Executive Secretary.

How the accreditation was announced

Mr Magaji said the accreditation followed the October/November 2025 exercise conducted by the commission. He added that the April 7, 2026 letter conveyed the result to the university in clear terms.

The accredited programmes cover both undergraduate and postgraduate study. Each of the 11 programmes received Full accreditation.

Reacting to the outcome, the Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Muhammad Zaiyan-Umar, said the accreditation reaffirms FUBK’s growing academic reputation and its dedication to excellence.

He said:
