Federal University Dutse (FUD) Academic Staff Promotion

Federal University Dutse (FUD) has approved the promotion of 48 academic staff members, with 21 moving to the rank of Professor and 27 moving to the rank of Reader. The approval came from the 4th Governing Council.

Council approval and effective date

The 4th Governing Council of Federal University Dutse approved the promotions at its 8th Regular Meeting held on Thursday, 7 May 2026, and the university set most of the promotions to take effect from 1 October 2025.

One Reader promotion carries an effective date of 1 October 2024.

FUD academic staff promoted to Professor

The following academic staff received promotion to the rank of Professor:

  1. Dr Umar Mukhtar: Professor of Agricultural Economics, with effect from 1 October 2025.
  2. Dr Aliyu Abdurrahaman: Professor of Agricultural Economics, with effect from 1 October 2025.
  3. Dr Gama Emmanuel Nkwi: Professor of Agricultural Economics, with effect from 1 October 2025.
  4. Dr Bashir Garba Muktar: Professor of Agricultural Extension, with effect from 1 October 2025.
  5. Dr Ado Garba: Professor of Agricultural Extension, with effect from 1 October 2025.
  6. Dr Danmaigoro Olarenwaju: Professor of Agronomy, with effect from 1 October 2025.
  7. Dr Ibrahim Sanusi Chinade: Professor of Literature in English, with effect from 1 October 2025.
  8. Dr Nasiruddeen Ibrahim Ahmad: Professor of Arabic Linguistics, with effect from 1 October 2025.
  9. Dr Philip N. Ndubueze: Professor of Sociology, with focus on Criminology and Security Studies, with effect from 1 October 2025.
  10. Dr Lamidi Kamal Olaniyi: Professor of Political Science, with focus on Nigerian Government and Politics, with effect from 1 October 2025.
  11. Dr Zahraddeen Sufyan: Professor of Computer Science, with effect from 1 October 2025.
  12. Dr Sulaiman Muhammad Inuwa: Professor of Biology, with focus on Ecology and Biodiversity, with effect from 1 October 2025.
  13. Dr Balogun Joshua Babalola: Professor of Biology, with interest in Parasitology, Public and Environmental Health, with effect from 1 October 2025.
  14. Dr Shiaka Gimba Peter: Professor of Microbiology, with focus on Environmental Microbiology, with effect from 1 October 2025.
  15. Dr Muhammad Isa Auyo: Professor of Botany, with effect from 1 October 2025.
  16. Dr Aminu Ma’aruf Nass: Professor of Applied Mathematics, with effect from 1 October 2025.
  17. Dr Babangida Ibrahim Babura: Professor of Statistics, with focus on Applied and Computational Statistics, with effect from 1 October 2025.
  18. Dr Shina Isma’il Sadiq: Professor of Chemistry, with focus on Natural Product Chemistry, with effect from 1 October 2025.
  19. Dr Hajara Momoh: Professor of Organic Chemistry, with effect from 1 October 2025.
  20. Dr Tasi’u Zangina: Professor of Physics, with focus on Material Science, with effect from 1 October 2025.
  21. Dr Hafeez Yusuf Hafeez: Professor of Physics, with focus on Solid State, with effect from 1 October 2025.
