New Degree Programmes Approved by FUD

The newly approved programmes cut across community health, laboratory science, nutrition, therapy and radiography. Each course falls under the Faculty of Basic Medical Sciences.

Why FUD Added the Programmes

The Vice-Chancellor of Federal University Dutse, Professor Ahmad Muhammed Gumel, commended the Faculty of Basic Medical Sciences for starting the process that led to the approval.

He said the new courses would support the university’s MBBS programme and create more academic openings for prospective students who want to study health-related courses. That link with MBBS gives the faculty a broader health training base.

Faculty Capacity and Support

Professor Gumel expressed confidence that the faculty could run the new programmes well. He pointed to improved manpower after 13 PhD holders recently returned from their studies.

He also said communities need professionals in these medical and healthcare fields. The university management, according to him, will keep giving the needed support for the programmes to succeed.
