The Federal University Oye-Ekiti, FUOYE, has opened postgraduate admission for the 2026/2027 academic session.
Applications are invited from suitably qualified candidates into full-time programmes under the School of Postgraduate Studies. The admission covers Ph.D, M.Phil/Ph.D and Master’s degree programmes across several faculties in the university.
FUOYE postgraduate programmes available
FUOYE listed the available postgraduate options for the 2026/2027 session.
These are:
- Ph.D degree programmes
- M.Phil/Ph.D degree programme
- Master’s degree programmes
The university stated that the admission is for full-time study.
Ph.D admission requirements
FUOYE said Ph.D programmes are open to holders of Master’s degrees with a minimum score of 60% in their Master’s degree programmes.
A Ph.D programme runs for a minimum of three sessions and a maximum of five sessions.
The university also stated that candidates will take relevant courses for the Ph.D programme and complete a supervised thesis.
M.Phil/Ph.D admission requirements
Candidates who score between 55.00% and 59.99% Cumulative Weighted Average, CWA, at Master’s level can apply for the M.Phil/Ph.D programme on full-time basis.
The programme runs for a minimum of one session. After that, a candidate may move to the Ph.D programme on good performance.
FUOYE stated that candidates in this category can convert to Ph.D candidature after a progress assessment report by a Panel of Examiners at the end of the first session of registration.
To qualify for that conversion, the candidate must score at least 60% aggregate at the end of the first session.
Master’s degree admission requirements
A candidate seeking admission into a Master’s degree programme must have a minimum of Second Class Lower Division in a Bachelor’s degree.
Master’s degree programmes run for a minimum of 18 calendar months, that is three semesters, and a maximum of 24 calendar months, that is four semesters, for full-time candidates.
FUOYE stated that all Master’s degree programmes are by course work, followed by research work that ends with a dissertation.
Other conditions applicants should note
The university stated that a programme automatically lapses at the end of the maximum duration fixed for that programme.
A candidate may apply for an extension of up to 12 months.
Candidates in regular employment must submit a formal letter of release for postgraduate studies from their employers along with their applications.
All applicants who did not graduate from FUOYE must ask their former universities or schools to send academic transcripts directly to the Secretary, School of Postgraduate Studies.
For Master’s applicants, the transcript must be that of the First Degree.
For doctoral applicants, the transcript must be that of the Master’s degree.
