1,264,940 results now available
JAMB said candidates who wrote the examination on Friday and Saturday can now view their scores.
In its words, "The results of candidates who sat the examination on Friday, 17 April and Saturday, 18 April 2026 have now been released. A total of 1,264,940 results from these two days are available for candidates to check/view."
The Board also explained how candidates can check their scores. It said candidates should send UTMERESULT to 55019 or 66019 with the phone number used during registration.
That means the SIM used for the 2026 UTME registration must be the same one used to send the message; that small detail matters.
Total results released so far
JAMB had earlier released 632,752 results for candidates who sat the examination on Thursday, 16 April 2026.
With the latest batch added, the total number of results released so far has risen to 1,897,692.
Why the result release was delayed
Earlier on Sunday, JAMB apologised for not releasing the latest batch of UTME results at the expected time.
The Board had earlier indicated that candidates who sat for the exam on Friday, 17 April 2026, would get their results on Saturday. That did not happen and many candidates were left waiting for their scores.
JAMB later said the delay came from the temporary absence of the Board's chief executive, who was away on official duties.

2026 UTME candidate figures
No fewer than two million candidates were expected to take part in the 2026 UTME, which started on 16 April at approved Computer-Based Test centres across Nigeria.
JAMB said 2,243,816 candidates registered for the exercise this year. That figure shows a 10.5 per cent increase from the 2.03 million recorded in 2025.
The examination runs in four daily sessions to reduce congestion and improve verification processes.
States with the highest number of candidates
Lagos State recorded the highest number of registered candidates with 381,814.
It was followed by:
Top states by registration
- Ogun: 137,156
- Oyo: 122,662
- Kaduna: 103,498
- Federal Capital Territory: 102,961
Countries outside Nigeria with registered candidates
Outside Nigeria, Côte d'Ivoire recorded the highest number with 32 candidates.
Registration figures outside Nigeria
- Equatorial Guinea: 16
- Burkina Faso: 14
- United Kingdom: 12
JAMB also said countries such as Gambia, Ghana and South Africa recorded fewer than 10 candidates each.
What this means for candidates
Candidates who sat for the Friday and Saturday papers can now check their results using the approved SMS method. Those still waiting for later batches will need to watch for the next update from JAMB.
The latest release pushes the 2026 UTME process forward in a big way; it also clears some of the tension caused by Sunday's delay.
