PLAC Legislative Internship Programme 2026
Essential Highlights
PLAC is accepting applications for its 2026 Legislative Internship Programme in Abuja. The 10-week programme runs from May to July 2026.

The Policy and Legal Advocacy Centre, PLAC, is running a 10-week full-time Legislative Internship Programme for 2026. The programme is backed by the European Union, EU, and targets young Nigerians who want to gain knowledge of legislative practice and process at the National Assembly.
It is a full-time placement in Abuja, FCT, and the internship will run from May 2026 to July 2026.
Who can apply
Applicants must meet these conditions:
- Be a Nigerian citizen between 21 and 35 years of age
- Hold at least a first degree in any discipline from a tertiary school
- Have completed the National Youth Service Corps, NYSC, Programme
- Have good English writing and speaking skills
- Have good computer skills
- Have excellent interpersonal skills
Internship location and duration
PLAC states that the internship will take place in Abuja, FCT.
The programme will last for 10 weeks, from May 2026 to July 2026. It is full-time; applicants need to keep that in view from the start.
Stipend and living arrangement
PLAC says selected interns will receive stipends to cover transportation and lunch costs within Abuja.
All other logistics costs will be handled by the interns. PLAC also says applicants should be able to live in Abuja during the internship, or cover the cost of staying there, because the centre will not provide accommodation or relocation costs.
How to apply
Applicants are to follow these steps:
Visit the application portal
Go to the PLAC internship recruitment portal.
Complete the form and upload a CV
Applicants must complete the online application form and upload a CV in Microsoft Word or PDF format. The file must be saved in the applicant’s name.
The CV must include:
- State of origin
- Date of birth
- NYSC service details, including place of service
Add a statement of purpose
Applicants must place a “Statement of Purpose” on the last page of the CV. The statement must explain why the applicant wants to take part in the internship.
PLAC gives these limits:
- CV must not be more than two pages
- Statement of Purpose must not be more than 300 words
- Both must be merged and uploaded as one document
- Total length must not be more than three pages
PLAC also says applicants will copy and paste the Statement of Purpose into the online form.
Application deadline
All applications must be submitted by 11:59 PM, West Africa Time, WAT, on Friday, 10 April 2026.
PLAC says late applications will not be considered. Applications that do not meet the stated requirements will also not be considered.

PLAC says only shortlisted candidates will be contacted for an interview.
