McPherson University Postgraduate Admission Form 2026/2027

McPherson University has opened its postgraduate admission application for the 2026/2027 academic session.

The university invites suitably qualified candidates to apply for postgraduate courses offered on part-time and full-time study modes. Applicants should read the course requirements with care before filling out the online form, since each programme has its own entry rules.

McPherson University Postgraduate Courses

McPherson University is accepting applications into selected postgraduate programmes.

The available courses cover computer science, business administration and accounting, with entry routes based on degree class, diploma, PGD, professional qualification and NYSC status.

PGD in Computer Science Admission Requirements

Applicants for PGD in Computer Science may be considered if they hold a B.Sc. degree in a related discipline.

An HND in Computer Science may also be accepted for admission.

M.Sc. in Computer Science Admission Requirements

Applicants for M.Sc. in Computer Science must hold a B.Sc. degree in Computer Science with at least Second Class Lower from a recognised university.

A candidate with a Third Class degree in Computer Science or a related discipline may be considered if such a candidate also holds a PGD in Computer Science or a related discipline. An HND holder in Computer Science or a related discipline from a recognised university may also be considered, provided the applicant has a PGD in Computer Science or a related discipline.

Applicants must have completed the one-year National Youth Service Corps programme, NYSC, or must have been exempted or excluded, as the case may be.

Ph.D. in Computer Science Admission Requirements

Candidates for Ph.D. in Computer Science must meet the admission requirements for the M.Sc. programme.

Applicants who have earned an M.Sc. degree with an average of 60% in Computer Science from McPherson University or any other approved school may be admitted into the Ph.D. programme. A candidate registered for M.Phil. who shows exceptional ability may also transfer to Ph.D. candidature at the end of the third semester, based on the recommendation of the Head of Department.

Applicants must have completed the one-year NYSC programme, or must have been exempted or excluded, as the case may be.

MBA Admission Requirements

The MBA programme has basic entry rules for applicants from management-related fields and other disciplines.

Candidates must have five O’ Level credit passes, including English Language, Mathematics and three other subjects.

Applicants with a Bachelor’s degree, B.A. or B.Sc., in Accounting, Finance, Banking, Economics, Insurance, Marketing, Business Administration and other related disciplines may apply. Such candidates must have at least Second Class Lower Division in their Bachelor’s degree.

The university may also consider applicants with:

• HND with professional qualifications such as ACA, ACCA, ANAN, ACMA, ACIT, AIB or ACIS
• HND with PGD
• Professional qualifications such as ACA, ACCA, ANAN, ACMA, ACIT, AIB or ACIS with PGD in any Management Sciences field
• Bachelor’s degree in any other discipline, with industrial experience

A Bachelor’s degree holder from another discipline must have at least Second Class Lower Division.

Applicants must have completed the one-year NYSC programme or must have been exempted, as the case may be.

Extra MBA Requirements

Post-qualification experience gives a prospective candidate an added advantage.

Foreign applicants must show proficiency in English Language for the MCU MBA.

M.Sc. in Accounting Admission Requirements

Applicants for M.Sc. in Accounting must have five O’ Level credit passes.

The required subjects include English Language, Mathematics, Economics, Commerce or Accounting, and two other commercial or social science subjects.

Candidates with a Bachelor’s degree, B.A. or B.Sc., in Accounting, Finance, Banking and Finance, or Economics may apply. They must hold at least Second Class Lower Division and must be graduates of approved and registered universities.

Applicants must have completed the one-year NYSC programme or must have been exempted, as the case may be.
