ABU 45th Convocation Ceremony Dates and Venues

Ahmadu Bello University (ABU), Zaria, has announced plans for its 45th Convocation Ceremony. The notice was issued by the Vice-Chancellor, Professor Adamu Ahmed, NITP, RTP, FICD, on behalf of the Chancellor, Governing Council, Senate, staff and students.

The university has invited members of the campus community and the general public to take part in the ceremonies, which will feature two main events.

Pre-Convocation Lecture

The pre-convocation lecture will be delivered by Her Excellency, Dr Ngozi Okonjo-Iweala, GCON, who serves as Director-General of the World Trade Organisation. The session will be chaired by His Excellency, Chief Olusegun Obasanjo, GCFR, former President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria.

• Date: Friday, 30 January 2026
• Time: 3:00 p.m.

Convocation Ceremony

The main convocation ceremony will hold the following day at the university's main square.

• Venue: Mamman Kontagora Square, ABU Main Campus, Samaru, Zaria
• Date: Saturday, 31 January 2026
• Time: 10:00 a.m.

The university has expressed its pleasure in welcoming guests to share in the events marking this year's convocation.
