Responsibilities of the University Librarian
The University Librarian oversees the administration of the main library, branches and extensions.
The role includes managing library services for the university community.
The Librarian will establish connections with library organisations and publishers both locally and internationally.
Required Qualifications
Applicants must meet these conditions:
- Hold a PhD in a relevant field.
- Be skilled in information technology and library automation.
- Have a strong record of scholarly publications.
- Be at least a Deputy Librarian in a university or equivalent rank.
- Have a minimum of 15 years of relevant experience.
- Be capable of initiating research in a university or comparable setting.
- Be under 65 years old at the time of starting the role.
- Hold membership in relevant professional associations.
- Be registered with the Librarians' Registration Council of Nigeria (LRCN).
Conditions of Service
The terms are in line with Federal University standards in Nigeria.
Additional conditions may be determined by the University Council and the Government.

Photocopies of all credentials should be attached.
Applications should be sent under confidential cover in a sealed envelope.
