ABUTH Zaria HND Nursing Admission 2026/2027

Ahmadu Bello University Teaching Hospital, Zaria College of Nursing Sciences has invited applications from interested and suitably qualified candidates for admission into the Higher National Diploma, HND, Nursing Sciences for the 2026/2027 academic session.

The notice covers entry requirements, the selection process, the application steps, the CBT fee, and the opening and closing dates. For many applicants, that is the real question; who can apply, and what must be done before the deadline?

ABUTH HND Nursing admission requirements

Candidates must meet these conditions:

1. They must be Registered Nurses with either an RN or RN/RM certificate.
2. They must be registered with the Nursing and Midwifery Council of Nigeria and hold a current practising licence.
3. They must have at least five credits in English Language, Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry and Biology in not more than two sittings.

Entrance examination and interview details

Candidates who meet the basic entry requirements will sit for an entrance examination.

The selection process will include a CBT; after that, successful candidates will be invited for a selection oral interview. Invited candidates are expected to come with their original credentials for the interview.

Successful candidates will also be required to pass a medical examination for fitness at ABU Teaching Hospital Shika or Tudun Wada.

How to apply for ABUTH HND Nursing admission

Applicants are to begin on the ABUTH application portal.

The steps stated by the College are listed below:

1. Log on to the ABUTH application portal.
2. Click on SIGNUP.
3. Create a profile. Applicants are advised to write down their chosen login ID and password because both will be needed to return to the portal.
4. Click CHECK FORMS ON SALE or APPLY HERE. Applicants are expected to read the programme guidelines and know the requirements of the proposed programme before applying.
5. From the list of open programmes, choose the programme by clicking “APPLY” on the right end.
6. Click APPLY.
7. A transaction page will appear; click GENERATE RRR at the bottom left of the page.
8. A Remita Retrieval Reference, RRR, number will be generated on the page.
9. Paying online activates the account immediately.
10. To pay online through MasterCard, Visa or Internet Banking, click Pay via REMITA and follow the guide on the portal. After payment, the applicant should refresh the page and continue from step 12.
11. To pay through a bank branch, print the transaction slip or copy the RRR number and proceed to any commercial bank. The RRR number must appear on the slip before printing and going to the bank.
12. After payment, return to the ABUTH application portal.
13. Click on LOGIN and enter the login ID and password created earlier.
14. Fill in all details, including biodata, contact details, next of kin, qualifications, O’Level, A’Level and passport photograph.
15. Click on MY FORMS from the profile menu and select SUBMIT APPLICATION on the right.
16. Tick the box at the bottom of the submit form to agree with the terms and conditions, then submit the application.

CBT fee and payment details

Candidates are required to pay N2,000.00 only as registration fee for the CBT.

Payment should be made through Remita payment page. On the platform, candidates are to select pay TSA and state, choose FGN, select AHMADU BELLO UNIVERSITY TEACHING HOSPITAL, choose school fees, enter their details, and pay.

Documents needed for interview

Each invited candidate is required to come along with these items for the interview:

• A copy of the application form
• CBT fee payment receipt
• Valid means of identification
• Original copies of all credentials

Any candidate who fails to attend either the CBT examination, the interview, or both, will not be eligible for admission into the College.

ABUTH HND Nursing CBT date and application deadline

The tentative date for the entrance examination is 7 May 2026.

Online application forms are open to interested and qualified candidates from 30 March to 30 April 2026. That date range is fixed in the notice, and applicants will want to keep it in view.
