Purpose of the Competition
The competition seeks to deepen understanding of how AI influences cybersecurity.
AI plays a significant role in shaping modern cyber defences while introducing challenges and opportunities.
Participants are encouraged to examine how these changes affect European security and policies.
Essay Question
The competition asks participants to address the question:
"How will Artificial Intelligence change cybersecurity and what are the implications for Europe? Discuss potential strategies that policymakers can adopt to navigate these changes."
Awards
Winners will receive monetary rewards and international recognition.
- 1st Place: €10,000.
- Runner-Up: €5,000.
- 3rd Place: €2,500.
- 4th and 5th Places: €1,000 each.
The 1st place winner will attend the 2025 Munich Security Conference from 13 to 16 February, where they will be honoured during the award ceremony.
This provides a platform to engage with global leaders and share insights on AI's role in cybersecurity.
Eligibility
The competition is open to individuals worldwide who specialise in cybersecurity and artificial intelligence.
Participants must comply with local laws and regulations.
Only single-authored essays are accepted and co-authored submissions will not be considered.
Submissions must respect intellectual property rights.
Selection Criteria
Submissions will be evaluated on the following criteria:
- Insightfulness: Essays must demonstrate a clear understanding of AI's role in cybersecurity.
- Relevance: The essay should address the implications for Europe and propose actionable recommendations for policymakers.
- Originality: Entries must offer unique perspectives or solutions.
- Clarity: Arguments must be well-structured and persuasive.
- Evidence: Claims should be backed by examples or data.
- Length: Essays must range from 800 to 1200 words, excluding footnotes but including hyperlinks for references.
